Take a step back a moment and ask your self why you're running

Attention Attention is Shinedown's sixth studio album. That's insane! Every time I hear a New Shinedown song, I listen to it half a dozen time. Their songs are so deep, so poetic, and songs that stick with you. On a good day there's a Shinedown song for that, on a bad day there's a Shinedown song for that. Brett Smith's vocals always give me goosebumps.

You see life's too short to run it like a race

So it's never gonna matter if you win first place

We’re all wondering through life, doing our own things. Expecting to see the bigger picture and that things will make sense why some people have it easier than others. But it, in the end, it doesn’t matter. We all wind up the same way, dead. Just because someone’s an actor, movie star, or lawyer, they are no different than anyone else. Like when we walk through a cemetery, there’s just a grave marker, and possibly some trinkets. They were a somebody to someone, at one time, but they’re not anymore.

I'm not different from anyone else. I have my stories, they have their stories. Mine isn't going to be the same as their's, and that's fine. They don't need to be. Just because you're not special doesn't mean you can't teach someone something so valuable.

Don't let someone tell you that your race isn't worth it. Run your race, because it makes you feel good. Thank you, Shinedown thank you for letting me see how beautiful life truly is.
